52 tonnes of hardcore was delivered to backfill around the pool to bring the level of the pool terrace up to required height.
Thankfully we have mechanical assistance and the hand to eye co-ordination of a teenager!
PVC drains have been laid within the hardcore, which will take the water away from the slab around the pool and eventually into a water storage tank for an irrigation system.
Unfortunately once we got up to the height for the drainage, we could not use the dumper truck anymore and had to resort to wheelbarrows!
Hardcore all compacted and drainage pipes sticking out of surface. The two wooden formworks are for two posts that will be set in concreate to connect a sail-shade for the end of the pool.
The backfilling is now complete and a concreate slab will be poured at a latter stage. We needed another 12 tonnes of hardcore to finish the job!
