Shallow end construction…

This bit of the build is a little heart breaking, as it requires the burring of around 400 blocks (12 tonnes) and will never be seen in the final construction. I chose this route as I wanted to build the main structure (9×4.5m pool) on a single solid slab and then create the levels at a later date. In all honesty, using solid blocks is probably a little over engineered and hardcore or hollow blocks would probably have sufficed, but I only want to do this once!

The following photo shows the first two rows being installed, three courses in total!

Concrete blocks all installed, next the plumbing of the drains and the steel mesh.
