Walls nearly finished

Great progress today, with three rows being completed. There is just one more row to complete until the concrete is poured, which is booked now for next Tuesday. There will be two more rows installed after that, but these will extend past the current basin, to form a 40cm (35cm water depth) ‘beach’ at one end and a hidden roller shutter at the other.

The steels to form the 45 degree stairs have also been installed, to ensure secure connection with the walls. There will be two steps down from the ‘beach’ to the shallow end, each 30cm high; going from a water depth of 35cm (in the beach) to 125cm in the shallow end.

It is also reassuring to see that the original pile of shuttering blocks has gone down and only two pallets remain (in the wrong place!). Therefore, only 2.6 tonnes of blocks to shift.
