All done for this trip…

With the school holiday coming to an end soon and the news that the concrete plant is now on a two week shut-down, that about completes the work that we can do for this trip. We will need to come back out soon, as we do not want to leave formwork to the elements for too long.

The following photo is from a couple of days ago and show the second suspended beam steelwork and formwork under construction. The second beam is set higher up to allow the roller shutter to be installed under it. From above and front it will look like a planter and only from the back will you be able to see the pool workings.

The following photo shows the completed formwork, ready for pouring of the concrete.

The following photo gives a better idea of what it will look like when finished, with the two beams spaced 300mm apart to give the appearance of a rectangular planter from the front and top.

Shoring up of formwork will pallets loaded with concrete blocks to help support during the pouring of the formwork.
